
Situation: A leading international specialty retailer with six brands and more than 150,000
employees worldwide, Gap Inc. faced growing competition for both customers and employees.
To meet current business challenges and future needs, the company required immediate action
to engage, retain and grow their talent across the enterprise.
Challenge: Gap Inc. wanted a cross-brand career development system with simple, relevant and
easy-to-use tools that would educate and inspire employees to develop a long-term career with
the company. A unifying brand framework was essential for engaging the brands and appealing
to their fast-moving, fashion-centric and visually oriented culture.
Solution: In partnership with Career Systems International, Bonfire customized world-class content
and tools to meet the cultural, learning and messaging requirements of Gap Inc. In less than four
months, Bonfire designed a new career system and developed a robust, modular 15-tool solution
for leaders and employees under a unifying brand framework.
Results: Requested initially by only two departments, "Fashion Your Future" created such buzz
and demand that it was quickly rolled out to departments across all six brands. Found to be highly
personal, engaging and easy-to-use, the system has already helped many employees with career
planning while building the company's reputation for investing in their people.
