
Situation: The Certification Board Perioperative Nursing, an industry leader in credentialing
services and competency development and assessment tools for operating room nurses,
wanted to establish a new leadership identity and reputation for competency within the
broader healthcare arena.
Challenge: The group sought to re-position itself in the marketplace, expand its audience base,
and build credibility throughout the health care industry. The challenge was to shift to a new
external identity while increasing sales of their products and services to a new, broader
target audience.
Solution: Bonfire collaborated with Leading Solutions Group on multiple initiatives, from the
creation of a new name -- the Competency & Credentialing Institute, or CCI -- to a new brand
identity, Web site, and design framework across all products and services. We also designed
and facilitated a think tank event, created a grassroots network of industry champions, and
developed new sales, marketing, and operational strategies.
Results: Following the re-branding, the organization saw its highest net gain of registrants
in years. Today, measurements of those applying for certification have reached new levels,
certification and re-certification revenues have hit record highs, and CCI has begun to
speak and publish widely throughout its industry.
