
Cathy is passionate about building bridges and using her diverse background in marketing communications, PR and leadership development to bring about positive change.
Before joining Bonfire, she worked as a senior consultant with Axialent, a global consulting firm whose mission is to help organizations align culture and behaviors with business strategy. In this role, she co-led workshops to help managers draw out the innate strengths of their teams and create empowered workplaces founded in integrity and conscious choice.
Prior to Axialent, Cathy was a senior associate at SparkPR, where she specialized in CEO thought leadership, executive media training, and strategic product launch campaigns. She also led the firm's professional development program and provided trainings in communication and management skills. At global PR firms including Burson-Marsteller, Golin/Harris International and Euro RSCG, Cathy managed campaigns for Skype, SAP, Hewlett-Packard, and SRI International. For The Economist, she coordinated public events and press interviews for the magazine's editor-in-chief, political cartoonist and Africa correspondent to raise awareness of socioeconomic issues around the world.
Cathy has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Clemson University and a Master of Arts in Speech Communication from Colorado State University. She is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators and the Association for Women in Communications. As a certified Empowerment Workshop trainer, she leads group trainings in social change and personal development and spearheads innovative programs to help Bay Area artists and community activists hone their talents. Outside of the office, Cathy aspires to be a documentary filmmaker and hikes Northern California in search of natural hot springs. She is also a long-time student and practitioner of energy work and meditation.
